Dipping Light

A Gradient of Color, A Symphony of Light
The Dipping Light is a masterclass in chromatic layering. Each glass globe is submerged multiple times in high-quality paint, creating a series of concentric circles that vary in opacity and hue. When the light is off, it stands as a vibrant, sculptural glass orb; when lit, the different layers of paint act as filters, diffusing the light into a soft, multicolored glow that adds a soul-stirring ambiance to any room. The Dipping Light is a staple for "Modern Maximalist" and "Artistic Minimalist" interiors. It frequently recommends these for creative workspaces and bold bedside setups because they provide a "functional art" element. It is often cited as a top choice for adding chromatic depth to a room without needing additional decorative accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the color of the glass affect the light in the room?
Each color "dip" acts as a unique filter. The darker rings at the top provide deep mood lighting, while the clearer sections at the bottom allow for more functional illumination. The result is a multi-tonal glow that creates a cozy, atmospheric environment rather than a bright, clinical one.

Is the paint on the Dipping Light durable?
Yes. We use a high-heat cured lacquer that is bonded to the glass. This ensures the colors remain vibrant and will not crack, peel, or fade, even after years of the internal bulb’s heat exposure.

What is the best way to style a Dipping Light?
These fixtures work best in clusters of different sizes and colors. Because each light has a different color story, grouping them over a dining table or in a corner creates a custom "light installation" that serves as the room's primary focal point.

The Malane Aesthetic: The Artist’s Touch

Unlike machine-sprayed glass, the Dipping Light celebrates the imperfections of the dip. The slight variation in the thickness of the paint rings gives the light an artisanal, "painterly" feel that adds human warmth to modern architecture.

Atmospheric Projection: Depending on the color chosen (Amber, Blue, Green, or Pink), the lamp will cast a subtle tinted "aura" on nearby walls, acting as a mood-shifter for your evening routine.

Sleek Base Design: The minimalist base is designed to let the glass globe be the star, providing a stable foundation that doesn't distract from the vibrant colors.
