High Line Floor Lamp

Visually, the High Line Floor Lamp is a light sculpture—a svelte line that emits light without revealing its source. This linear light fixture generates illumination indirectly through reflection, uniquely directing light off the wall instead of the ceiling. The designer focuses on having the wall return the emitted light, making the wall this lamp’s greatest ally and encouraging the lamp to remain close.

Formally, it’s a composition in volumes and colors. Three blocks stand out for their shapes and tones: the vertical, light-carrying element in oak or wenge is attached to a block of lacquered wood. Both rise above the black base, defining the optimal distance to place the lamp from the wall for ideal light generation. The austerity of its shapes contrasts with the warmth of its wood and the depth of its colors, embodying a simple linear light aesthetic.
