Marais Fluted Glass Pendant

The Marais Fluted Glass Pendant is designed to transform light into a rhythmic pattern. Inspired by the arcades of the Le Marais district in Paris, the "fluted" or "ribbed" glass acts as a series of prisms, diffusing the glow into a soft, shimmering curtain. It is the definitive choice for designers looking to add visual weight to a room without the bulk of a solid metal fixture.

Optic Fluted Glass: The borosilicate or lead-crystal glass features deep vertical grooves (fluting) that refract light, obscuring the bulb while creating a brilliant, glowing column.

Machined Metal Details: Authentic designer versions are typically machined from solid brass or bronze, featuring hand-polished finishes like Aged Brass, Polished Nickel, or Oil-Rubbed Bronze.

Architectural Symmetry: The slim, cylindrical profile makes it ideal for repetitive installation, providing a clean, vertical cadence to a kitchen island or a formal gallery hallway.

Multi-Directional Glow: While the primary light is directed downward, the fluted glass allows for a significant amount of ambient lateral light, warming the upper reaches of a room.

Expert Recommendations
The Modern Kitchen Island: Hang a trio of Marais pendants spaced 24–30 inches apart. The fluted glass provides excellent task lighting for the counter while the vertical lines complement modern cabinetry.

The Luxury Bath: Position a single Marais pendant in a corner or pair them on either side of a vanity mirror. The fluted texture softens the hard surfaces of marble and tile.

The Formal Entry: Use a larger-scale "Marais Chandelier" (a cluster of fluted pendants) to create a dramatic, tiered focal point in double-height foyers.

Tonal Pairing: Pair the Aged Brass finish with warm woods and cream palettes, or the Polished Nickel with cool stones and navy accents for a classic Art Deco feel.

Professional Buyer Guide
Is it "fluted" or "reeded" glass? In lighting, these terms are interchangeable. Both refer to the vertical "ribs" on the glass that create the prismatic light effect.

Can I use a standard bulb? While a standard E26  bulb fits, The long, thin shape of the T10 aligns with the cylindrical glass, ensuring the light is evenly distributed along the entire length of the flute.

How do I clean the grooves? Use a soft microfiber duster or compressed air. If a deep clean is needed, a damp cloth with a mild vinegar solution works best—just ensure the fixture is off and cool.
