Nacre — a column of natural shell, set tile by tile into a lattice of solid brass. Hundreds of thin squares of natural white shell are fitted into a fine brass grid and curved into a tall half-cylinder that stands proud of the wall. Each tile carries its own pearly sheen, faint growth lines and soft shifts of tone, so the surface reads like mother-of-pearl inlay on a piece of fine furniture.
Lit, the shell turns translucent and glows a warm, luminous ivory, and the brass lines draw a crisp grid across it. It is one of the warmest, most flattering kinds of light there is — soft as candlelight, with none of the coolness of glass. Off, it is a quietly opulent object in pearl and gold.

A note on natural shell: every tile is a natural material, so its sheen, tone, markings and translucency vary from tile to tile and from the photographs. These variations are what make the piece beautiful, and are not defects.

Is it real shell?
Yes. Each tile is natural white shell, cut thin enough for light to pass through it, and set into a solid brass grid.
How bright is it?
Nacre is designed for warm, atmospheric light rather than task lighting. A pair will comfortably light a bedroom or a seating area in the evening; in a large room, use it alongside ceiling or lamp light.
How high should I mount it?
Mount the small size with its center about 50–60 inches from the floor beside a bed, or 60–66 inches elsewhere. For the large size, place its center about 60–66 inches from the floor, so the top sits at roughly 78–84 inches.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Beside a mirror in a powder room or a well-ventilated bathroom, away from direct water, yes. Shell is a natural material, so avoid installing it in a shower area or anywhere it may be splashed.
Do I need to buy bulbs?
No. The warm-white LED is integrated and included.
How do I clean it?
Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Do not use water, sprays or chemical cleaners on the shell, and avoid metal polish on the brass.
