Patty 4 Light Pendant

Three slender brass rods, holding almost nothing. They descend nearly six feet, joined at two points by small brass collars, and at the very bottom they open around opal glass petals — cupped, facing outward — before closing again into a short column of brass beads that finishes the line.

Almost all of this fixture is empty space. The rods are thin, the glass is small, and the drop is long, so what you install is a vertical gesture rather than an object filling a room. In a stairwell or a double-height entry it draws a line down through the volume; in a dining room it hangs like a plumb line above the table. This is lighting as drawing.

Where the money goes

• Machined brass throughout. The rods, the collars, the ball joints, and the bead drop are solid turned brass, not plated tube. At this proportion there is nowhere to hide a shortcut — every joint is visible.
• Opal glass petals. Cupped glass forms held in brass cradles, lit from within. Opal diffuses completely, so the light is soft and the glass glows evenly rather than showing a bright source.
• Modular suspension. Rod sections of 7.9", 11.8", 19.7", and 31.5" (20, 30, 50, 80 cm) combine to set the drop you need. Custom lengths on request.
• Rigid, not corded. The rod assembly holds the fixture perfectly plumb and perfectly still — essential at this length, where a cord-hung fixture would swing and twist.
• Integrated 8 W LED. No bulb, no visible socket, and a power draw low enough to leave lit all evening.

Two finishes

Antique Brass is the warmer, softer option — a slightly darkened, aged tone that reads as heritage and settles into rooms with wood, stone, and deep paint. Champagne Gold is brighter and cooler, closer to a polished modern gold, and holds its own in pale, contemporary interiors. Both use the same white opal glass.

Specifications

Hanging it

At 70.9 inches of total height this fixture is built for volume: a stairwell where it is seen from two levels, a double-height entry, a vaulted living room, or above a dining table in a room with generous ceilings. The suspension is supplied as four rod sections that combine to shorter drops, so it can be adapted to a lower ceiling — but on a standard eight-foot ceiling you will be using only part of the assembly, and the fixture loses the proportion it was designed around. Measure your ceiling height before ordering and tell us the drop you want; we will confirm the rod combination.

Frequently asked questions

How large is the Patty pendant, and what does it cost?

13.8 x 14.2 inches at its widest, and 70.9 inches tall overall (35 x 36 x 180 cm). It is $1,788 USD in either finish.

Can the drop be shortened?

Yes. The suspension is made of four rod sections — 7.9", 11.8", 19.7", and 31.5" — which combine to give a range of shorter drops. Custom rod lengths are available on request; contact us with your ceiling height and desired drop before ordering.

What finishes is the Patty available in?

Antique Brass is a warmer, slightly aged tone that suits wood, stone, and darker interiors. Champagne Gold is brighter and cooler, closer to a polished modern gold, and suits pale contemporary rooms. The opal glass is white in both.

Does it need a bulb?

No. The LED is integrated, rated at 8 W. There is no bulb to buy or install, and no visible socket — which is what allows the fixture to be this slender.

Can the LED be replaced later?

The LED is integrated rather than user-replaceable. LED modules of this type are rated for many years of normal household use. Contact us about service if a unit ever fails.

Is it dimmable?

It is designed to run on a common wall switch. If you want it on a dimmer, contact us before ordering so we can confirm compatibility for your installation — wiring an incompatible LED fixture to a dimmer can cause flicker or buzz.

How bright is 8 W?

This is an accent and atmosphere fixture, not a primary light source. At 8 W it gives a soft, focused glow around the opal glass rather than lighting a whole room. In a stairwell or entry it works beautifully on its own; over a dining table, plan on additional lighting alongside it.

Does it swing or rotate?

No. The rigid brass rod assembly holds it plumb and still. That stability is why a rod suspension is used at this length instead of a cord — but it also means the position is fixed once installed.

Will it suit a standard eight-foot ceiling?

It can be shortened using fewer rod sections, but the design depends on a long vertical drop, and in a standard-height room much of that is lost. It is at its best in stairwells, double-height entries, and vaulted spaces.

How do I clean it?

Dust the rods and beads with a soft dry cloth and wipe the opal glass with a barely damp cloth. Do not use metal polish or abrasive cleaners on the finish — both antique brass and champagne gold are applied finishes and polishing will cut through them.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated for indoor use only and is not damp- or wet-rated.

Will it work outside the United States?

Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, so it runs on either a 120 V or a 230 V supply.
