Pleated Glass Pendant Light

Sculptural Precision & The Timeless Allure of Fluted Glass
The Pleated Glass Pendant is an elegant study in repetition and rhythm. Inspired by the delicate folds of high-fashion textiles and the classic fluting of Greco-Roman columns, this fixture features hand-pressed glass with deep, vertical ridges. These "pleats" do more than just look beautiful; they act as a series of prisms, breaking the light to create a sparkling, multidimensional glow while disguising the bulb's harsh filament. This fixture is a primary choice for "Modern Parisian," "Grandmillennial," and "New Traditional" interiors. It is a top recommendation for designers seeking to add a sense of "heritage" to a contemporary renovation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of shadows does pleated glass cast?
Because of the vertical ridges, the Pleated Glass Pendant projects a rhythmic, "scalloped" pattern onto nearby walls and ceilings.  This creates a sophisticated light-play that adds visual interest to plain white walls or neutral spaces.

Is pleated glass harder to clean than smooth glass?
While the ridges look intricate, the "pleats" are usually on the exterior of the glass, while the interior is smooth. To maintain the sparkle, we recommend a quick monthly pass with a soft feather duster or a microfiber cloth. For deeper cleans, a standard glass spray and a soft-bristled brush will easily clear the grooves.

Can I use this light in a kitchen?
Absolutely. The Pleated Glass Pendant is a designer favorite for triple-cluster installations over a kitchen island. The glass is easy to wipe down, and the clear-but-textured surface provides excellent task lighting without the clinical feel of plain glass.

The Malane Aesthetic: The Refraction of Heritage

The Pleated Pendant is designed to feel like a "found" object—something with a history, yet perfectly suited for a smart home.

High-Clarity Borosilicate: We use a high-index glass that ensures the "pleats" look sharp and crisp, not rounded or "melted," providing a high-definition light quality.

Textural Balance: The verticality of the glass pleats contrasts beautifully with the soft, rounded silhouette of the shade, creating a balanced form that fits into both maximalist and minimalist homes.
