Rattan & Fabric Tiered Pendant Light

Woven cane over a fabric inner shade — light filtered twice. The outer tier is a ring of open rattan panels, each one framed and set slightly apart from its neighbour. Beneath sits a second tier of fabric. When the bulb is lit, the cane weave throws a pattern of small warm points across the ceiling and walls while the fabric layer keeps the direct light soft.

This is a fixture that changes character with the switch. Off, it is a sculptural basket of natural material — texture, shadow, craft. On, it becomes a lantern.

Made from real material

• Natural rattan, hand-woven. Cane webbing in a traditional open weave, framed panel by panel. Grain and tone vary slightly between pieces, as they should.
• Fabric inner shade. The second tier diffuses the light so the bulb is never directly in view from a seated position.
• Two finishes. Nature Rattan for the pale honey tone of untreated cane; Coffee for a deeper, warmer brown that reads richer against white walls.
• Standard bulb, your choice. E26 or E27 screw base, so you can run a warm Edison filament for glow or an LED for efficiency.

Three sizes

• Ø 15.7" x H 9.8" (Dia 40 x H 25 cm) — bedside, entry, or a pair over a kitchen peninsula.
• Ø 19.7" x H 13.8" (Dia 50 x H 35 cm) — the everyday size, over a breakfast table or a four-seat round table.
• Ø 23.6" x H 15.4" (Dia 60 x H 39 cm) — a statement fixture for a dining table or a stairwell.

Where it belongs

Rattan does its best work against materials that contrast with it: white plaster, black steel, pale oak, linen. Hang the 19.7" over a round breakfast table, the 23.6" over a full dining table, or a pair of 15.7" flanking a bed in place of table lamps. It suits coastal, boho, Japandi, and mid-century rooms — anywhere the palette is warm and the textures are natural.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes and prices are available?

Three sizes. Ø 15.7" x H 9.8" is $800, Ø 19.7" x H 13.8" is $1,200, and Ø 23.6" x H 15.4" is $2,000. Each size costs the same in both the Nature Rattan and the Coffee finish.

What is it made of?

Woven rattan cane for the outer panels and fabric for the inner shade, on a metal frame with a black canopy and cord. The rattan is a natural material, so slight variation in tone and grain between individual pieces is normal and expected.

What bulb does it take?

A standard E26 (North America) or E27 (Europe) screw-base bulb, not included. Both LED and Edison filament bulbs work. A 2700K warm white bulb suits the natural cane tone best; cool white makes rattan look grey.

Does the rattan cast patterns on the walls?

Yes. The open cane weave on the outer tier lets light through in small points, so the fixture throws a soft dappled pattern onto the ceiling and nearby walls. A clear filament bulb produces a sharper pattern; a frosted bulb produces a gentler one.

Is it dimmable?

The fixture runs on a common wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so dimming depends entirely on the bulb. A dimmable LED or Edison bulb on a compatible wall dimmer will dim.

What finishes are available?

Two: Nature Rattan color, the pale honey tone of untreated cane, and Coffee color, a deeper brown. Both are offered in all three sizes at the same price.

How long is the cord?

150 cm / 59 inches, suitable for standard 8 to 10 foot ceilings and shortenable at installation. Longer cord is available on request for vaulted or double-height ceilings — contact us before ordering.

Can it be used in a bathroom, a porch, or outdoors?

No. It is rated for indoor use only. Rattan and fabric both absorb moisture, which causes warping and mildew, so keep this fixture out of bathrooms, covered patios, and any damp location.

How do I clean it?

Dust the cane with a dry soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on rattan or on the fabric shade.

Will it work outside the United States?

Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Use an E26 bulb on 110-120 V supply and an E27 bulb on 220-240 V.
