Schoolhouse Pendant Light

A Timeless Classic Reimagined for the Modern Home
The Schoolhouse Pendant Light from Malane Lighting pays homage to early 20th-century American design. Characterized by its iconic "milk glass" shade and clean, utilitarian lines, this fixture brings a sense of academic charm and vintage soul to any space. Whether you are restoring a farmhouse or adding a touch of history to a new build, the Schoolhouse series offers a bridge between past and present. This fixture is the quintessential choice for Modern Farmhouse, Industrial Loft, and Craftsman-style interiors. Designers frequently recommend schoolhouse silhouettes for kitchens and hallways because they provide 360-degree ambient lighting without the glare of exposed bulbs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is schoolhouse lighting bright enough for a kitchen?
Yes, the Schoolhouse Pendant is an excellent primary light source. The milky glass diffuser allows high-wattage bulbs to illuminate the entire room while softening the light to prevent eye strain.

Can the Schoolhouse Pendant be used in a bathroom?
Our Schoolhouse Pendant is Damp-Rated, meaning it is perfectly safe for use in bathrooms and covered porches where moisture may be present, provided it is not in direct contact with water.

Does this light work with a dimmer switch?
Yes, the Schoolhouse Pendant is fully dimmable when paired with a dimmable E26 bulb and a compatible wall dimmer, allowing you to transition from bright task lighting to a soft evening glow.

The Malane Difference: Authentic Craftsmanship
Our Schoolhouse shade is crafted from genuine milk glass, not painted clear glass. This ensures the white finish will never peel or discolor, maintaining its crisp, snowy aesthetic for decades.

Period-Correct Details: Features a traditional "fitter" with thumb screws for a truly authentic vintage look.

Easy Maintenance: The smooth glass surface is dust-resistant and wipes clean in seconds—ideal for high-traffic areas like kitchens and mudrooms.
