Volterra Fluted Alabaster Sconce

The Volterra Fluted Sconce is an exercise in tactile elegance. Drawing inspiration from the fluted columns of classical architecture, this fixture features a solid block of Spanish Alabaster that has been meticulously grooved to create a rhythmic play of light and shadow. When illuminated, the vertical fluting emphasizes the stone's natural translucency, casting a soft, architectural glow that transforms a functional light into a three-dimensional wall sculpture.

Hand-Carved Fluting: The vertical channels are precision-carved into the stone, allowing light to "pool" in the grooves and highlight the contrast between the thick and thin sections of the alabaster.

Translucent Diffusion: Unlike glass, natural alabaster filters light through its mineral structure, producing a high-CRI, "candlelight" warmth that is naturally calming and glare-free.

Symmetry in Stone: Each piece is carved from a singular block, ensuring the veining remains continuous. No two sconces are identical, offering a "bespoke" element to every installation.

Architectural Hardware: The stone is held by minimalist, low-profile caps in Burnished Brass or Matte Bronze, providing a structured frame that grounds the organic stone.

Expert Recommendations
The Formal Entryway: Install a pair of fluted sconces flanking a grand doorway or a piece of large-scale art. The vertical lines add a sense of height and "stature" to the foyer.

The Luxury Library: Place between bookshelves or mahogany panels. The fluted texture complements the linear rows of books while providing a sophisticated, low-glare reading environment.

High-Traffic Corridors: Because it meets ADA compliance (under 4-inch depth), it is an ideal choice for high-end hotel hallways where architectural detail is required without obstructing the path.

How "white" is the alabaster? Natural Spanish Alabaster ranges from a crisp, milky white to a warm cream with grey or amber veining. We offer "Selection Matching" for orders of two or more to ensure visual harmony.

Is the LED dimmable? Yes. The Volterra is compatible with most leading-edge and trailing-edge (TRIAC/ELV) dimming systems, allowing for a transition from functional brightness to a low, amber glow.

Can it be used in a bathroom? Yes, provided it is installed in a Damp-Rated location (avoiding direct contact with water). The stone is naturally moisture-resistant when properly maintained.
