VP Moon Pendant Light

Designed in 1960, the Moon Pendant represents Verner Panton's fascination with mathematical precision and atmospheric light. The lamp is composed of ten ring-shaped lamellae (slats) that can be moved individually. By rotating these vertical blades, the user can "shape" the light, transitioning the fixture from a closed, glowing orb to an open, dramatic fan that reveals the central light source.

Adjustable Lamellae: Ten ring-shaped slats allow for 360-degree customization. You can stagger the blades to create a "crescent" effect or align them for a uniform, architectural sphere.

Reflective Filtration: The slats act as individual reflectors, bouncing light inward before diffusing it out. This ensures a completely glare-free experience, regardless of the viewing angle.

Material Integrity: Available in the classic white-lacquered metal for a crisp, mid-century look, or a translucent opal acrylic for a softer, more poetic glow.

Architectural Presence: Its spherical form is balanced by the sharp, rhythmic lines of the slats, making it a "living" sculpture that changes appearance as you move around it.

Designer Recommendations
The Living Room Corner: Hang the Moon at eye level in a corner. Because you can adjust the slats, you can direct light away from seating areas to create a moody, ambient "glow-spot."

Dining Centerpiece: The Small or Large versions are ideal for hanging over circular dining tables, where the spherical geometry of the lamp complements the furniture.

Stairwell Clusters: Due to its 360-degree visual appeal, the Moon is one of the few lights that looks equally stunning from above, below, or the side, making it perfect for multi-story voids.

Do the rings move on their own? No, the slats are adjusted manually during installation or whenever you wish to change the look. They stay in place via friction.

Is it easy to clean? Yes. Because the slats can be fanned out, you can easily access each layer with a dry microfiber cloth or a feather duster.

What is the difference between the Metal and Acrylic versions? The Metal version is opaque, providing more directed, rhythmic shadows. The Opal Acrylic version is translucent, allowing the entire body of the lamp to glow like a full moon.
